Very good options but the price is slightly steep for the type of food I would recommend it for an affordable and yet tasteful place in the hotel to try.
Café Milano at The Peppermill is one of my favourite venues for a quick lite snack. I love the ambiance of Cafe Milano and there are many choices to choose from on the menu. My server efficient and attentive and talked me into having the soup of the day, Clam Chowder, which was very nice but there was room for improvement. Before ordering the London Broil, the server warned me that the London Broil was generally served between rare and medium-rare and with that warning, I told her to bring it on. It was served with Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Veggies. The London Broil was absolutely delightful and paired nicely with the 1000 Stories Zinfandel. As always, Café Milano did not disappoint, providing me with the perfect lite afternoon snack.
We stay at the Peppermill frequently and usually have at least one meal a day at Cafe Milano. We return because the ambiance is welcoming and the service is always very good. The staff is welcoming and professional. The menu is quite varied and always good. However, the portions are too big! For example a turkey sandwich has enough meat for two or 3 sandwiches and is too large to take a bite from. No one wants to waste food but we generally leave food on the plate and it must be thrown away. Please cut the portions and save the waste.
This is Peppermill's 24/7 coffee shop/diner serving breakfast, appetizers, lunch/dinner, dessert with a few Chinese dishes at the back of the menu. I remember this spot used to be dark with fake trees and neon lights...and now it's bright, airy and almost "fancy" for a 24/7 spot. I used to get the French dip often and must say it's still as good as I remember with freshly carved (thin) prime rib with the option of doneness! Perfectly rare as requested with a flavorful au jus. For the price, thankfully it was delicious! The potato salad was yummy and devoured. Service friendly, straightforward and attentive. Great option if you can't decide what to eat. :) Pricing with a drink and tax: $30
Forget casino food, this is a first class cafe with HUGE portions. I ate there twice last week. First visit, a BLT. Freaking wow! This sandwich comes on some super thick and tasty toast. This sandwich was so packed I could barely get my mouth around. The bacon is thick and plenty. I opted for waffle fries. What a stack of fries! So tasty. Second trip I got the country scramble. This is really a meal for two, unless you are really hungry. It was the perfect fusion of food, and what I loved was salt was not the first ingredient. GREAT BREAKFAST. Staff is incredible and they have a locals discount. Can't miss cafe!
Amazing service, thanks Mark! Interior paint is light colored and the restaurant is lit up well. The tables are evenly spread out and I love sitting in the U-shaped booths. Can't go wrong with a French dip or prime rib at Café Milano. Always good company and fast service. Consistent and dependably delicious!!!
